Welcome to the  West Mearns Parish Church website. We are part of the Church of Scotland and the parish includes the former parishes of Fettercairn, Fordoun and Glenbervie, meaning that we include the villages of Auchenblae, Edzell Woods, Drumlithie, Fettercairn, and Fordoun together with the smaller communities at Carmont, West Cairnbeg, Dellavaird, Glenbervie, Glensaugh, Fasque and Monboddo and all the farms and individual properties in an area about 30 km long and 15 km wide. We worship at Churches in Fettercairn, Auchenblae and Glenbervie with a monthly service at Queen Elizabeth Court and an annual Carol Service in Drumlithie Village Hall.

The parish was formed when the former parishes of Fettercairn, Fordoun and Gelnbervie became united into a single parish on 17th April 1994, For a few years previously the three parishes had been a linked charge - i.e. separate parishes sharing one minister.

The first minister of the united parish was Rev David Jack who had been minister of the linkage. Following Rev. Jack's retirement in 1999, Rev Catherine Hepburn was elected minister in June 2000 and was inducted later that year. Very sadly Catherine died in March 2015 after being diagnozed with cancer and the parish was declared vacant after her death.

In June 2016 Rev Brian Smith was inducted as minister of the parish.
